Las Vegas has a way of raising resilient women, and at just 24 years old, Nayeli Felix is proof. Born and raised in our city, Nayeli grew up watching two hardworking parents model discipline, sacrifice, and the value of education. While she once envisioned a future in the medical field, her real calling was forming much earlier, at a manicure table.

She still remembers her first set of nails for her 8th grade formal. What started as excitement quickly turned into fascination. By high school, she was bringing Pinterest and Instagram inspiration photos into salons, often leaving disappointed when intricate designs couldn’t be replicated. So she did what entrepreneurs do: she figured it out herself.

With supplies from a local swap meet, Nayeli began practicing at home, sometimes spending hours perfecting just one hand. She showed up to school mid process, determined to improve. Friends became clients. Clients told friends. A quiet, shy teenager slowly found her confidence through a nail brush.

After earning her medical assistant certification, she made a bold pivot. With her parents’ support, Nayeli enrolled in cosmetology school, earned her license, and opened her first salon suite in Las Vegas. Today, she operates inside Phanie’s Nails on Rancho and Gowen and still serves clients who have been with her for over seven years, a testament to her loyalty and skill.

From acrylics and Gel-X to hard gel, custom press-ons, and Footlogix pedicure care, Nayeli has built Nayelisglamm into a full service nail destination. Her ready to wear press-ons, alongside fully customized sets, make her artistry accessible beyond the salon chair.

What nail styles are you seeing everyone request right now?

Currently, I’ve seen the majority of my clients shifting away from acrylic to gel services. My most requested is a short/medium length almond or square hard gel overlay. Hard gel feels more lightweight while being just as durable as acrylic. My clients get to grow out their natural nails to the desired length and shape that they want, which is suitable for their lifestyle. The one major nail inspo for the majority of my clients is Hailey Bieber. Anything from a classic French, pearlescent chrome, or Cateye is by far the most requested week after week.

What makes your press-on nails different from what people are used to?

Our handmade press ons are made with soft gel, which makes them flexible and plastic like but made from a gel resin. This gives our press ons superior durability, which gives you the ability to reuse them multiple times with the proper application and care. What’s the hardest type of nail art to execute well and why?

For me, currently, nail art I find challenging to execute would be 3d sculpted art. This, in recent years, has been a new trend where artists use a clay like gel putty to mold, sculpt and paint. This creates anything from flowers and fruit to characters and figurines like Hello Kitty.
